What should you not do before dermaplaning?
Stop using any at-home manual or chemical exfoliation treatments, such as retinol, exfoliating serums, face polishes, or scrubs, about 5 days before your dermaplaning appointment.
You can get a Dermaplaning treatment and go about your day as usual, or at least put on makeup immediately. Due to the elimination of facial hair and dead skin cells, the treatment will allow your cosmetics to apply more smoothly.

A HydraFacial: What to Expect?
A HydraFacial treatment requires almost no aftercare or downtime. Some patients’ skin may feel tight and seem red for a few hours after the surgery. How long does skin stay smooth after dermaplaning?
Unfortunately, the effects of dermaplaning fade over time. The technique removes dead skin cells accumulated for up to three weeks. After about a month, the results will have worn off. In the days following a dermaplaning session, your skin will be susceptible to UV rays.
